How magical !
You have locked the escaping vision
That focuses on your snow white hair
The windblown and sunlit face looks like a bronze
How many vicissitudes must you experience in your solitary practice?
In your eyes
The shadow of a sword grows with mountains and waves
I’m eager to open your closed lips
Listen to your heartbeat melody in reading holy words
The worldly noise and hustle are completely
Cast away through your worship to the holy soul
In your eyes
A night as the daylight and a start as the sun
When I meet you
I seem to encounter the desolation of life
Like the mirror of a sculpture
The years-left scars
As the wrinkles on your face
The shaggy gray hair
As shifting thoughts across the chest
Everything is so fresh and so vivid in front of me
When I meet you
I won’t escape from the dust
Not reject
The beautiful blooms applause
Not bewail
Changes of different dynasties
I got knowledge of
Meditation in the tumult
Of boating on the autumn water
Of keeping silence in austerities
I read your persistent eyes
You kindle the flame of life
And illuminate the night from afar
This is a magical encounter!
From the escape to the happy reading
From distant India to my motherland
This is a dialogue from heart to heart
This is a candle-light from spirit to spirit
My love has been melted into your profound eyes
No time to ask
For whom do cicadas make their songs as waves?
For whom do sweats flow all over as drops of rain?
How many roads must a man walk down
Before they call him a man
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand
How many times must the cannonballs fly
Before they are forever banned
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind
How many years must a mountain exist
Before it is washed to the sea
How many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free
How many times can a man turn his head
And pretend that he just doesn't see
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind
How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky
How many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry
How many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
