   罗伯特 · 弗罗斯特（1874年3月26日——1963年1月29日）是20世纪最受欢迎的美国诗人之一。他曾当过新英格兰的鞋匠、教师和农场主。他的诗歌从农村生活中汲取题材，与19世纪的诗人有很多共同之处，相比之下，却较少具有现代派气息。他曾赢得4次普利策奖和许多其他的奖励及荣誉，被称之为“美国文学中的桂冠诗人”。只是在他的下半生才赢得大众对其诗歌作品的承认。在此后的年代中，他树立起了一位伟大的文学家的形象。代表作品：《诗歌选集》《一棵作证的树》《山间》《新罕布什尔》《西去的溪流》《又一片牧场》《林间空地》和诗剧《理智的假面具》《慈悲的假面具》《诗歌全集》《未选择的路》。

我曾高悬新月，让她依在空中

俯瞰那林木村舍，啊——一望郁郁迷蒙
I've tried it fine with little breadth of luster,
月呀，妳可弧光一缕，孓然纤细
Alone, or in one ornament combining
月呀，妳可携手珠水之最，相伴相映生辉
With one first-water star almost shining.
秀啊，秀妳月色熠熠，秀啊，秀妳星光依稀

Above a hazy tree-and-farmhouse cluster
在一片含糊不清的树和农夫的小房子上方
As you might try a jewel in your hair.
如同你曾试着把一颗宝石佩饰在头上
I've tried it fine with little breadth of luster,
我曾经争取让这宝石呈狭窄、弧形，精美、有光泽
Alone, or in one ornament combining
单一的，或联同一种装饰物
With one first-water star almost shining.
该物应是一种头号、水状行星且略微发光

I put it shining anywhere I please.
我让它在我喜欢的地方发光
By walking slowly on some evening later,
那不久之后的一个傍晚，在我慢慢行走时
I've pulled it from a crate of crooked trees,
我曾把它从弯曲的树木条车厢带出                                              2
