Sea Poppies

Amber husk
fluted with gold,
fruit on the sand
marked with a rich grain,
treasure
spilled near the shrub-pines
to bleach on the boulders:
your stalk has caught root
among wet pebbles
and drift flung by the sea
and grated shells
and split conch-shells.
Beautiful, wide-spread,
fire upon leaf,
what meadow yields
so fragrant a leaf
as your bright leaf?

琥珀色的外壳
用金子雕刻,
沙上的果实
标志着富裕的粮食。
财宝
散落在矮松树附近,
在巨石上漂洗;
你的茎把根
扎在潮湿的小卵石中,
被海流冲走的时候,
外壳磨破,
贝壳分开。
美丽的,燎原的,
叶子上的火焰,
草地上长的什么叶子
如此之香,
像你绚丽的叶子一样?
