Four Poems by Chai Xin (Zhejiang, China)
No.1
A Spider
I saw that spider on the web
Walking those unreal footprints
Made the body so light in the moment of joyful walking
The spider I ever counted
Her relaxed and graceful footsteps
Developed each road
From up above to the middle and then downwards
A falling freely
Made her works with no starlight
Get a nice turning-back
With kind of despairing beauty
The falling the process
Made me doubt no more
That even if there were no wings
Flying was possible

No. 2
The Happiness in the Sky
How many days can you find the beloved
Or depart before broken-hearted
How long can you embrace that person
The wind and sunshine coming and going
Untouchable
How many days can your eyes touch the fragrance
Your red lips touch the dreaming love
How many days can your facial expression and lightening drowning in the fall
Appear at the same time, just like brightening the happiness in the sky

No. 3
Boundlessness
My kingdom is boundless
The fall followed is more boundless
A tree a person and even
The distance between a person and a tree

No. 4
The Snowflakes
Standing by the window
I watch the snow dancing
Occasionally some snowflakes float inside
Falling on the blank draft paper
Melting slowly and silently
I stand in the final landscape
Appreciating the falling of the snowflakes one after another
And as they’re falling I try to memorize
Their shapes and directions
I don’t know and not intend to know
When the last snowflake would fall
OrWhere I could be standing
Or where I might be standing
That would be unimportant
