英 诗《 Why Flowers Change Colour 》汉 译《 花 儿 为 何 要 变 色 》

李世纯

       罗伯特 · 赫里克生于1591年8月24日，是伦敦金匠尼古拉斯和他的妻子朱利安·斯通·赫里克所生的第七个孩子和第四个儿子。赫里克14个月大的时候，他父亲去世了。16岁时，赫里克开始和他叔叔做十年学徒。学徒期只过了6年就结束了，赫里克22岁时就被剑桥圣约翰学院录取了。他于1617年毕业。
       在接下来的十年里，赫里克成为本·琼森的弟子，他写了五首诗。1623年，赫里克接受了神圣的命令，6年后，他成为德文郡迪安·普里尔的牧师。他的任期总共31年，但在1647年的大起义中，他因为保皇党的同情而被撤职。查理二世复辟后，赫里克于1662年在迪安普里（Dean Prior）定居，直到1674年10月去世。他从未结过婚，他诗中提到的许多女人都被认为是虚构的。
