a dead cat bounced once or twice
& \: I# U3 Q; Q9 \a dead man walked as a soldier from Qin dynasty
8 U. `; m* \1 c9 e: v- Q4 Hwho dreamed about climbing the Great Wall across the vast
5 T2 E% F; j! K7 q! A! qnorthern wasteland
; M, ], F4 m  u7 q8 cand only found himself turned into a ghost in the bushes
like a shapeless shadow of wind

2 H8 n4 L; p0 Q& w+ d" t% nsuch vivid affairs one could not tell
: }" i1 v, @0 T1 D0 xin the midnight silence
+ K! F. X0 e/ F8 i$ U, \5 ?and I knew nothing about the basement
where rats and cockroaches fought among themselves
7 L( T3 `! q" b6 cI was alive, but couldn't walk nor bounce around
as a black swan or a white cat
while you said, come join the soldiers of the cockroaches.

Why not rats, I asked.
one inch seemed one million miles away
. D& o' h4 |- b4 }- mwith two worlds apart
there was something inside me I couldn't reach

I was alive, but couldn't walk as a living being

) K$ C/ V5 _9 Q6 z' ntime turned into a grain of sand --

% Z  _; i9 j' T& j' L1 K5 Z: wwith sore and pain in my back
! r: W7 n* V; r. [+ o! o. {0 }I couldn't go too far from my flesh nor bring the true pieces of me
to the silent tides
I couldn't touch the shades of solidity
while my door was cracking --
) Y5 [/ A8 H9 Y  C% E# Othe boundary of myself was disappearing
  ]3 X# ^1 O3 Esomething completely foreign was reshaping
I felt the dim light of the rainy day came inside me
% r$ L0 Z/ a6 w, `and shed on the cracked floor
+ ]7 W2 @# ~+ S  B3 ~when curtains were still tightly shut

Gapping, sobbing, and yelling in pain
I felt the dead man moving out of my body
3 N% u7 X4 r: H) H0 Y% u& J( e- gand the grain of sand was free-flying
in the pouring rain
love or being loved was a state of quantum
-- rats or cockroaches didn't matter --
4 N# T1 b) P+ D- }- Fwhen a terra cotta soldier was walking
in the mighty wind.

我活着，却不能像黑天鹅或白猫那样
行走或弹跳
