Painting by Gustave Courbet
Poem by Hu Youqi
Translated by Tulip
She lifts a sieve to the simple life
For kneeing is also a kind of labor paean
Unambiguously the woman raises the sieve
A grain cabinet hungrily looks around
A food bag stretches the breast and head in mute smile
Once hid-empty sells are removed
The happiness of farmers is growing full like grain in the sieve
Now the face of sieving-wheat woman as her red dress
Shines vividly upon the floor, reflecting a ground of brilliance
This is her most perfect posture
