Kind-Hearted as one
Reflection upon Han Qingchen’s poem “Dad and Daughter”
translated by Tulip
A gold-crowned white parrot
Flapping her freedom wings
Flies at an elderly’s shoulder
The old man is a farmer of village in Hong Kong
Who ploughed up a rich water field
He said, beside the field
He also gets along well with his bird
For more than fifteen years
For her with him together on LRT
He opened a small bag mouth
To let her get into it
At the Moment I could see
Both of them match
The loyal bird
Absolutely gave up her sky
For love down to this land

Dad and daughter
by Han Qingchen
translated by Tulip
Two shapes are weeding in the field
One is dad
And another his daughter
The man is wearing cotton-padded jacket
That looks worn
With many patches
The girl in bright-colored
Under April sunshine
Is wearing a laced-sun hat
They are close by the shoulders
Yet they seem to be separated for a century
- Selected from Han Qingcheng’s Poems
"Urban and rural edge"
