Wansfell! This Household has a favoured lot➀，
Living with liberty on thee to gaze，
To watch while Morn first crowns thee with her rays，
Or when along thy breast serenely float
Evening’s angelic clouds. Yet ne’er a note
Hath sounded（shame upon the Bard!）thy praise
For all that thou，as if from heaven，hast brought
Of glory lavished on our quiet days.
Bountiful Son of Earth! when we are gone➁
From every object dear to mortal sight➂，
As soon we shall be，may these words attest
How oft，to elevate our spirits，shone
Thy visionary majesties of light，
How in thy pensive glooms our hearts found rest.

➀汪斯费尔山，在威斯特摩兰郡，靠近温德密湖。
➁“大地之子”，指汪斯费尔山。
➂华兹华斯作此诗时，他和他妻子玛丽•赫钦森都已72岁，他妹妹多萝西也71岁，所以他预计自己和亲人“不久以后”都会“告别”。

汪斯费尔山啊，我的家住在
你自由的怀抱，这是天赐之福，
清晨，眺望第一缕曙光照上峰顶，
傍晚，看那迷人的红霞静静落下山谷。
你层峦叠嶂，是上天的杰作，
为我们平安的岁月奉上丰饶的福禄，
可我枉为一个歌手，甚感惭愧，
迄今未尝写出一个赞美你的音符。
慷慨的大地之子，当我们离别，
离别世人眷恋的美丽的景物，
虽人生白驹过隙，愿这首小诗为证：
我们醒着，我们的精神便显著，
为你的壮丽而提升；我们入睡，
我们的梦便安详，为你的幽邃而沉伏。
