【汉译英】对联

普敬

题解：春节将至，恭祝阖家幸福，吉祥如意！在下送上古联英译一首，恳请朋友批评指正。

对联（chinese couplets）最好用Couplet文体翻译，
采用抑扬格五音步

爆竹一聲除舊,桃符萬象更新。

In firecrackers' smog departs the old year,
By peach wood charms all the world burst out cheer.

感谢您的指导。对联的美是多重的，翻译过程中确实遗失大半了，只是依照英文对句移译而已，只顾及音步上的一致，视觉乃至句法上的对称就远远谈不上了。恭祝六时吉祥，新春快乐，吉祥如意！

第一对的第二行的最后一个单词 用 “may" 表示 像五月的花那样美丽。

第二句的第二行的最后一个单词 用 “gay" 表示happy and bright 愉快而艳丽。
