这首诗的语言并不晦涩。           （赞同）            

但史蒂文斯往往在其诗歌的末尾数行使用复杂的句中套句的句式，达成全诗的焦点。（反对，“往往”非一贯，本作即意外）
它们极易造成翻译的失误或不达意。这首诗体现的尤其突出。
在最后两段中，为了更准确地发掘原意，（重新归纳不必，按同位翻译即可，rock 起最后两段与 outlook 同位，）
我把它们重新归纳   
为两句有前后应承关系的单列句，如下： （两句单列句不必，outlook 已有两个 where 引导各自限定语，我们常规译即可 ）

1. Where he would be complete in an unexplained completion
    在那里，未经诠释的完整会使他完全。

2. exact - 感觉还是“恰切”的意思；

3. they had edged 最好翻译出来，我在读的时候想到了edged out, “见之未及”的风景。

很好的翻译尝试。再一次体会斯蒂文斯关于“诗最高虚构”是怎样的艺术境界。

在最后两段中，为了更准确地发掘原意，我把它们重新归纳为两句有前后应承关系的单列句，如下：

"At the exact rock, at last his inexactnesses would discover the view toward which they had edged."

"(On the exact rock)He could lie and, gazing down at the sea,recognize his unique and solitary home."



比较下面原文，改写反误入歧途，酿成错译，因为，两个已经是限定语，在排比，加重语气修饰 rock

    在那里，未经诠释的完整会使他完全。（此处 Where 属引导词， 不可译，但可理解成限定语：妙不可言，难以言表的完美之<作“景观”> outlook）

2. exact - 感觉还是“恰切”的意思；  ( 此处按“恰切”理解或可，但诗人上文已经移就修改诗歌为砺石，所以，我们取“精美”为宜)

3. they had edged 最好翻译出来，我在读的时候想到了edged out, “见之未及”的风景。（不该是未来得及见的风景，应是尚未可见的，心里，心意中的、心仪的.....，edged 此处为动词，取“修整”，“界定”之义，也可理解为我们的俗语：规制，甚至是：弄，捯饬等...，at last, the view toward which they had edged, “他们一直在修整的景致”，例如：at last, the hairstyle toward which she had edged all morning showed in her mirror.她弄了一上午的发型终于........ 或：他已经处心积虑弄的，磨的，画的，编织的 "图象，图画，刀具，绒衣“等终于.......）
